This little book is an unique Scots version of Beatrix Potter's most beloved tale. This exciting new translation of The Tale of Peter Rabbit, with the text in Scots, was launched at the opening reception of the Society?s Eleventh International Study Conference in Birnam, Perthshire, on 16 July 2004. It is in the same format, with re-originated full color illustrations and type, as the edition published in 2002 by Frederick Warne to celebrate the first publication of the book in 1902. This translation uses words and phrases from a wide area of the language to express in Scots a child orientated version of The Tale of Peter Rabbit and includes six illustrations left out of the original 1903 editions, two of which have never before been published.
